Victoria Island equally known as VI is a high brow area in Lagos State. It is found in Eti-Osa Local Government Area precisely Iru Victoria Island Local Council Development Area.
It is wedged between Lagos Island and Lekki Peninsula. Previously, Victoria Island was surrounded by water bodies but the Colonial Government in power during that time started sand-filling the swamps. This led to the construction of the expressway from Victoria Island to Epe. It shares border with the Atlantic Ocean in the south , the mouth of Lagos in the west, the Five Cowrie Creek in the North, and swamps in the East. Presently Victoria Island accommodates a lot of domestic and international corporations & businesses and some residential areas.
Victoria Island was mainly a residential area but gradually evolved into so much more with time. The boasts of a lot of world-class hotels, exotic restaurants, dining spots, shopping complexes, bars, lounges and nightclubs. Infact, It is the entertainment point of Lagos State. You can see and appreciate more of the beauty and planning of Victoria Island during the weekends because there is usually less traffic.
Victoria Island is also boasts of high financial activities. Every bank in the country has at least three to four of it’s branches of every bank in Victoria Island. A lot of Embassies, Consulates/High Commissions – US embassy, British Deputy High Commission, Italian embassy, Austrian, German, Canadian embassies amongst others are located in Victoria Island.

Oniru is a neighbourhood in the spectacular Victoria Island area of Lagos. It’s a highbrow neighbourhood with serene and clean surrounding, made up of apartments with state-of-the-art designs. The Oniru area is one of the most sought after locations for property acquisition in Lagos.
